Prayer

"I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of His power for us who believe Him..."
Eph 1:19 NLT

Have you sensed the serious need for God's power through prayer?

Chances are you've never met anyone who fully understood the incredible greatness of God's power, but maybe you've caught glimpses throughout your life and, like Paul, you feel drawn to ask God to reveal the fullness and richness of His power through prayer.

Do you want God to teach you what it really means to pray?

A healthy prayer life should consist of more than lifting our requests up to God - we should actually seek Him, listen to Him, and let prayer become the heartbeat of our lives.  The more you pray, the more He will reveal to you about prayer.

You believe God is powerful, but have you been taking advantage of the power He wants to be within you? Here you'll find a wide variety of opportunities to intercede, to commune and to connect through the power of prayer.

Neptune's Prayer Ministry Exists to…

  • Connect believers with God through prayer
  • Lead NBC to become a House-of-prayer
  • Pray that the world will be reached for Jesus Christ
  • Pray that the church will grow
  • Intercede for the sick and those in need
  • Pray that God will bring spiritual revival to the church and to the world

Prayer Walking

Prayer Warriors who partner together in Prayer Walking are praying on site with insight.  They walk together in small groups of 2 or more in the geographical area where they are asking God to work.  (If you do not have a partner to walk with, you may begin your prayer walking with a focus on God to bring you a prayer partner)

  • Prayer Walkers who partner together may pray that God will bring a spiritual revival to the church and to the world

You Can Become a Part of Neptune's Prayer Ministry Through 1:5 Prayer Partners

The 1:5 Prayer Partners, based on Phil. 1:5, is the backbone of the prayer ministry of NBC.  It is a simple ministry with a huge impact.

  • Each Prayer Partner may pray anytime during the day or evening for as short or as long as he or she desires to pray.
  • Each Prayer Partner will receive an update of specific topics to pray for from the pastor each week (through email or regular mail)
  • All of the Prayer Partners will come together once a quarter for a Saturday morning prayer breakfast in order to pray together and encourage one another as partners in prayer.
  • The challenge before the church is to have 150 1:5 Prayer Partners.

Light Houses of Prayer

The idea behind Light Houses of Prayer is that you can make your home a house of prayer as you intercede for the neighbors who live in your community.

  • Each intercessor can set a specific time at least once a week and commit to pray for his or her neighbors at that time.
  • Each Light House will receive a small flag to put up in your yard during the time of prayer so that your neighbors know when you are praying for them.
  • Each Light House will receive door knockers to give to your neighbors to explain that they live in the same neighborhood, work at the same job, teach at the same school, shop at the same grocery store, or just have a heart for the same community.
  • Prayer Walkers may pray together as often as they choose, but a regularly set time is recommended.

Telephone Prayer Chain

Intercessors can be a link in the telephone prayer chain by receiving a prayer request by phone and passing it on to the next link in the chain.  The telephone prayer chain is a great way to be an immediate intercessor for those in need.

Email Prayer Chain

Intercessors can be a part of the Email Prayer Chain by simply receiving an email of the specific prayer request and being faithful to lift that request to God in prayer.

Triple Tied

Students can also participate in Neptune's Prayer Ministry.  The concept of Triple Ties is based on Ecclesiastes 4:12

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken

Participating students will commit to join two other friends ("A chord of three") for a brief prayer time once a week at school, lunch, or another convenient time.

Senior Saint Prayer Pact

Active Senior Adults as well as those who are unable to leave their homes are encouraged to become a part of the intercessory prayer ministry. You still have an important ministry of prayer.

"There is no power like that of prevailing prayer-of Abraham pleading for Sodom, Jacob wrestling in the stillness of the night, Moses standing in the breach, Hannah intoxicated with sorrow, David heart-broken with remorse and grief, Jesus in sweat and blood. Add to this list from the records of the church your personal observation and experience, and always there is cost of passion unto blood. Such prayer prevails. It turns ordinary mortals into men of power. It brings power. It brings fire. It brings rain. It brings life. It brings God." -Samuel Chadwick
